The SHADOW universal pickup is a very special passive piezo pickup suited to a wide range of instruments. Indeed, you simply stick the SHADOW onto any vibrating surface to get a powerful, faithful sound. No special power supply is needed: its bonus is the volume and tone control on the control box:
Its price is very attractive
Tips and tricks:
Percussion.
Percussion instruments are the loudest instruments on the market. That is why, to amplify a tom for example, you need a microphone capsule that will not overload on the transient (the “attack”) of the sound.
Well placed, SHADOW pickups, generic piezo pickups, will play their part by finding their place; often a logical one, sometimes an incongruous one, from where they will provide an acceptable solution at little cost
Sanza, kalimba, djembe, steel drum, tabla, bongo, tom, etc.
