Microphones and pickups for acoustic instruments

Amplifying a guitar, violin, double bass, harp or handpan without altering its tone takes the right pickup, properly fitted. We select trusted brands — Ischell, Shadow (Nanoflex), Sennheiser — and help you choose according to your instrument, the stage or the studio.

About us

A musician on the end of the phone, before and after your purchase

Behind Acoustics is Philippe MOREAU, musician, composer, arranger and music teacher for more than 30 years. Founder in 1992 of a two-keyboard/pedalboard electronic organ school affiliated to the Technics Music Academy network, then of the “Musique Passion” and “Pianos Fréquence 21” shops, he also runs an authorised Steinway & Sons dealership and develops the Steinway & Sons Concert Service. Most recently, he founded the Acoustics-Mics and Pickups shop in Demigny. He now devotes himself entirely to this business.

He personally chooses every instrument and every microphone in the catalogue, and answers you directly — no platform, no call centre.

Frequently asked questions

How long does delivery take?

Orders placed on a working day are prepared and handed to GLS within 48 to 72 working hours (dispatch guaranteed within 72 hours for items under €100), then delivered within 24 to 48 hours in mainland France. Bulky instruments may need a little more time for packing: we will let you know by email. To the rest of Europe, delivery takes 4–5 working days.

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery is free in mainland France for orders of €200 or more, and costs €4.90 below that. For other destinations, the cost is €19; for a bulky instrument outside mainland France, please contact us for a quote.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes: Klarna lets you pay in 3 interest-free instalments for orders from €35 to €1,000, subject to acceptance. You can also pay by bank card, PayPal, Google Pay or bank transfer.

Can I return an item?

You have 14 days after receipt to change your mind, without having to give a reason. The item is refunded in full, including standard delivery costs; return shipping costs are at your expense.

I can’t find a product on the site: what should I do?

Not the whole catalogue of our brands is online. Call Philippe on +33 6 83 72 37 34 or write to us: we can usually order the instrument or accessory for you.

How do I choose the right microphone or pickup for my instrument?

It all depends on the instrument, how you will use it (stage, studio, rehearsal) and your equipment. The simplest thing is to talk to Philippe: he will point you towards the right pickup and explain how to fit and connect it.
