The TAD 7025 HIGHGRADE delivers a warm, clear sound with a smooth transition into overdrive. It provides a stable response in sensitive gain stages, making it ideal for applications requiring low noise and controlled microphonics. Used as the first gain stage or as an input tube, it delivers a round, natural sound, preserving both clarity and the richness of overdriven textures.
This model represents the most demanding selection from TAD’s quality control process, with only a small percentage of production meeting the strict noise and microphonics criteria. It is a direct replacement for ECC83, 12AX7, 7025 and their variants, and is particularly suited to amplifiers requiring a low-noise tube in the V1 position. Compared with other HIGHGRADE tubes, it offers a more harmonious overall balance and a lower noise floor, which also makes it relevant for audio input stages and studio applications.
It is characterised by a linear response, controlled noise behaviour, stable operation and high-quality selection and matching carried out by TAD in Germany.
