Royall Tampa Resonator Guitar: This art deco-design tricone Resonator model has three 6″ resonator cones that deliver a rich sound with plenty of sustain. The sound is much less direct and less loud than that of its single-cone counterparts, but the loss of volume is more than made up for by the complexity and subtlety of the tone. The brass body with polished nickel finish will impress with its looks, and the sound it develops: the main difference from its 2 sisters is that this guitar is not amplified, and does not have the Cutaway either:
The playability is, as always, perfect. The luthiers who designed and built these instruments actually play resonator guitar. In the Royall workshop, the resonator cones are hand-spun to fit these instruments. Since they are the heart of the sound, hand-spun Royall resonator cones make an enormous difference.
