How to choose a resonator guitar?

The choice depends on the resonator system: the single cone (biscuit) gives a direct, biting sound, the tricone a softer, more complex tone, and the spider a powerful, bluegrass-style volume. A metal body (steel or brass) sounds brighter, a wooden body warmer. For slide playing, favour a square neck or a raised nut and open tuning.
